The artists arrive

Yesterday was a big day here at Skilly. Twenty artists arrived to spend the afternoon painting and sketching on the property. It was all part of the Bungaree Artist’s Residency, an event organised by Jo Bertini and Raymond Hawkins. Raymond and Jo are shown in the photo above with the Skilly Hills in the background. The group arrived at lunch time and everyone was hungry, cold and had damp feet from the previous location. So the first step was to warm up with lunch and to try to find a sunny spot to eat it. All fuelled up, the artists wandered off in several directions looking for things to sketch.

Here are a few photos from the day. I will put some more in another post.

  1. I doubt that they wanted to leave Jeff, wonderful opportunity you gave them to enjoy all the history and beauty of your place.

    1. They were a remarkably friendly mob. Most, perhaps all, of them had travelled here from interstate. Many were established artists and I had lots of interesting chats. It was a good day.
